Vacation- Day 4

On our last day there, we got up and did a little shopping, then headed home. None of us wanted to leave the mountains!

I just took a couple of shots of the inside of our cabin before we left....my camera battery was dying, so I didn't do too many.

The kids each had some money to spend....Collin had his heart set on this big bear.

He rode home with him like this.

And, Kendra chose a pair of sunglasses with a case , and a new dress for her bunny.
Fun vacation, but always glad to be home too!

Vacation- Day 3

First we went to watch the glass blower make a set of glasses.

Then we packed a lunch and went to Rocky Mountain National Park.

There was a lot of snow up toward the top.

Mike had to help the kids make snowballs to throw at me. It was kinda cold!

It was windy and cold at the visitors center, so we stopped long enough to get this picture, then looked in the gift shop, and headed back down.

We saw some wildlife. So pretty.

Another snapshot by Kendra.

There was road construction, so we got out and looked for pretty rocks.

Then we went to the Alluvial Fan. My "tripod" is kind of visible here, but oh well.

Kendra and I watched this little guy dig a hole, bury something, and then cover it back up. He made quick work of it too!

If you look VERY CLOSELY you can spot Mike and the kids in this picture....They hiked up by the waterfall.....I wasn't that brave. :)

Then we hiked around Sprague Lake. We saw all kinds of animals there too. This mama and her baby ducks were a highlight.

So beautiful....

Walkin' with Dad.

Collin was watching the fly fishermen, and wanted to fish really bad. So, he found this "fishing Pole", and recruited Kendra to help him carry it around the lake.
Then we went back to town for supper at Poppy's Pizza (yummy!), and relaxed in the hot tub again.

Family Vacation- Day 2

The next day we slept in, and then went downtown to enjoy the river, shopping, eating, and playground.

We ate at a place we had never been to before called "Penelopes". Good burgers, and we could sit and watch people while we ate at the window!

Kendra took this picture us.

Collin loves waterfalls.

And they had lots of fun kicking their feet in the cold water.

We went back to our cabin and grilled steaks for supper.

Then we went to ride the bumper boats....we all got just a little bit wet. Okay, maybe more like soaked! Tons of fun!

Then the kids had a train ride. The picture below is waiting for the train ride.

And what better way to end the evening than with a sweet treat?!

Family Vacation- Day 1

We went on a family vacation to Colorado last week. I took so many pictures that I decided to post them day by day to break it up a little! We left on Sunday and did some shopping in Loveland on the way out. Then we had sandwiches for supper and enjoyed checking out our cabin and all that it offered.

We had hummingbirds that would come eat off this feeder in front of our window off the deck. Hard to see....he was moving a little too fast for my camera settings!

Then we had elk come up to our deck. The kids loved watching them.

Then it was time to relax (or try to swim) in the hot tub!

Cousin Time

Trace came to swim with us one afternoon. The kids had a great time together.

The Kendra pointed out this pretty rainbow that evening.

Trip to Kearney

Last week we took a day trip to Kearney to see some friends that we don't get to see very often. They were staying at a hotel for a family reunion. We had a good time swimming, and visiting just a little bit. It was a fun day for all of us!

The whole group....Jen, Angie, Amy, Renee, and me with all the kids.

80th Birthday Celebration

Mike's grandma turned 80 earlier this month, so the family hosted an open house for her. It was a really good time catching up with family we don't see often.

I made the cakes.

Collin and Dalton became good buddies.

The kids had lots of fun playing together.

And Grandma was very surprised with the Mother's ring from the family. It was a great weekend!

Overnight Guest

Kendra and Collin had one of their friends over for a couple of nights when her mom had surgery to have her tonsils out. We had lots of fun, and some fights over who was going to get to do certain things with Sonya! :)

We went swimming...

And did lots of other things I don't have pictures of....

And enjoyed cake batter while I baked!

July 5

Mike had Monday off work, so he came along with us to McCook for my doctor's appointment. Everything looked good, and the kids had fun hearing the heartbeat again. Then we went from there to North Platte for the day. The kids were disappointed that Cody Park was under water, so not open, but quickly got over it when we headed to Menards where there was a playground and frogs! Lots of frogs....big ones, and little bitty baby ones.
