10th Anniversary Vacation Part 2

This is the cabin that we stayed in. It was SO quiet!

We sat in the hot tub every night. It was fun to watch the stars while we sat in it.

The second day we were there we went to the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. Very interesting.

Then we shopped and ate downtown historic Manitou Springs. It was very cool. I drank out of this spring. It tasted carbonated. They have several different springs throughout the town.

This is the clock right in the middle of the town.

Then Mike talked me into going up Pikes Peak....

Very pretty.

And then the clouds rolled in

We didn't get to go up the last 3,000 feet, because they closed the road. This is as close as we got. It was 50 degrees and raining where we were. At the top it was snowing and lightning really sharp.

This is the view from the front of our cabin.

10th Anniversary Vacation

Mike and I went to the Colorado Springs area to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We had a great time, and I took lots of pictures, so I will break this up into more than one post. The first day that we were there we went for a scenic drive down one road towards Canon City, and then back up another one. It was beautiful, quiet, and peaceful.

This was called "Shelf Road", and that is exactly what it looked like we were driving on was a shelf on the side of the mountain.

When we got to Canon City we had to make an ice cream stop...yummy!

Not a really great picture, but with the wind blowing, and a self timer on the camera, that's as good as it was going to get!

We stopped in Cripple Creek, and got some awesome fudge at a fudge shop there. mmmmmm!

Baby Bunnies

When Maycee and Ashton were over the other day, they found a whole nest of baby bunnies. They caught this one, and had fun holding it for a little while before we made them let it go. I have seen some of them running around the yard on occasion. So cute!

Trip to Aunt Becky's

2 weekends ago the kids and I decided last minute to ride along with Mike's mom to see his sister, Becky and kids in Colorado. We had a great time...the kids playing, us visiting. We did a little bit of shopping, and went to the pool in her neighborhood. Collin made a build-a-bear. The only problem is that my camera battery died shortly after we got there. Here are the few pictures I got.

Our Friday

We went with Renee, Maycee, and Ashton to see a friend and her new baby boy. I made a cookie bouquet to take. It was fun to do, and fun to go visit. I made a baseball for Collin with the extra cookie, and he enjoyed eating it. He said it was "WAY COOL".

Later in the day we went to the country, and the kids rode in the combine. Here they are waiting anxiously.

Then they got to ride the tractor with Papa. It was a fun day!

4th of July

We went to Imperial on the 3rd to see the fireworks. Collin wasn't too sure about the noisy ones. He spent most of the time under his blanket. The boys settled in on Grandma's lap to watch.

We went to Marty and Renee's house on the 4th. It was a great time with friends, food and fireworks! Kendra and I made cookies together. We had fun decorating them.

We had one special one that Collin had picked out. We had to light that one at home the next night. He loved the toot toot, and smoke!

The kids watching.

I went out to Renee Wheeler Photography yesterday, and here are a few pictures she took for me. Love them! Happy 4th of July!
