Football Birthday Party

I apologize for my random posts on here...I have gotten them kind of out of order! This is a picture I took of Mike and the two older kids ready to head out the door to a football themed birthday party for Tommy. They had a lot of fun, and Collin thought it was just awesome.

Back to Decorating

So, I had kind of taken a break from cake decorating since last summer. I am back at it now! I made one for Kendra's birthday, and then this one for a baptism. It's fun to be back at it!

Kendra's 8th Birthday

We celebrated Kendra's birthday on the 19th after church. It was a good time with everyone! Kendra and her cake

Micah- 3 Months Old

School Winter Concert

Kendra had her school winter concert Tuesday night. I went to watch her while Mike stayed home with the boys and played wii games. She had a part in it, and she did a great job. I was very proud of her! It is so much fun to see her and the other kids as they grow and change.

1st Christmas

Micah celebrated his first Christmas on Friday. Mike's family has Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. Micah needed some nice warm sleepers, so I got him one he could wear for the occasion!

We started out the morning playing with cousins.
Then Grandma Joyce wanted a picture of all of them together. This is the best I got on my camera!

We had a yummy prime rib supper and then opened gifts. I thought this picture was funny. Good thing Collin had someone to help!

Kendra was thrilled with her new pillow pet.

And Collin was VERY excited to have the "aircopter" he's been asking for for so long!

Micah got to meet more family for the first time.

Thanksgiving Day

We went to Mike's parents for Thanksgiving dinner, and then came home in the afternoon to put up the Christmas tree! We are excited to get more decorations up....maybe tonight.

Collin likes to put the ornaments all together...I have gradually been moving them. :)

Giving Thanks

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

I have been thinking about Thanksgiving a little bit differently this year. I mean, usually I think of all of the blessings I am so thankful for, and I still feel that way, but I have been reminded of this verse that says to be thankful IN all circumstances.

The last several months have been a challenge and full of a whole lot of different emotions. These challenges have helped me to grow. Not feeling the best and being on partial bed rest, baby's heartbeat out of control, preterm labor, days wearing on in the NICU, missing my other 2 kids at home, appointments, going on a different diet to help Micah's sensitivities.....I must say I didn't always feel too thankful FOR these things.

In the midst of it all, I was very thankful though. Thankful that I made it to 35 weeks, that we made it to Omaha safely, no c-section, and our new baby boy was born with a healthy cry and a good weight. Thankful for the doctors, nurses, and cardiologists that took care of Micah in NICU, that they found a medicine that would control the SVT, for fellow moms and dads that were there to offer support and encouragement as they went through similar situations, some much more serious than ours. Thankful for family and friends who helped out in so many ways...taking good care of the older kids being one!

Most of all though, I give thanks and praise to God for His answers to our prayers, and for being the unchanging, all knowing, loving God He is. Because, no matter what the circumstance....He loves me, and Micah even more than I do...and that's what matters.

Micah- 2 Months Old

Micah turned 2 months old on the 9th. We took him the next day to Holdrege for a check up with the cardiologist, and he was 10 pounds! Everything was fine with his heart, and we don't have to go back until January. He has started laughing and smiling at us a lot, and he coos. We love him so much.

Micah- 8 Weeks

I took some pictures of Micah yesterday when Collin was playing with him. He is growing so much! When I took him to the doctor on Monday he was 9 pounds, 6 ounces. He is starting to smile and coo. We have so much fun with him!
